Kindness Hands

Image
Description - To begin this activity, I traced both of my hands on a white sheet of construction paper. I picked six different colors of oil pastel; three cool colors and three warm colors. Then, I used the warm colors on one hand and created about an inch thick of a line using one and rotating them till if filled my hand. After that, I used a piece of a paper towel to blend those colors together. I repeated those steps using the cool colors on the other hand. When was done blending both of the hands, I cut the hands out. I then used glue to glue the hands to to top of my black piece of construction paper. While the hands were drying to the paper, I picked a letter out of the given letters that were one a scratch thing and scratched the 'k' using a small wood stick. I had to use at least three different shapes or lines to create my 'k'. The scratch thing was a sticker, so I just peeled it and put it on the black construction paper. I then cut out a smaller white piece

The Starry Night

Image
Description - I used The Starry Night as an example to go off of while doing this art project. I used tissue paper to create the 'swirls' that van Gogh used in The Starry Night. I ripped my tissue paper into different sized pieces. I placed the pieces all over the paper and used a clear glue mix to glue them down. I placed a small bit of the glue mix under the pieces, put the pieces over it, then used my paint brush to brush the glue mix over the whole piece of tissue paper. After I got done putting all of my tissue paper on my project, I had to let it sit and dry. While I let it dry, I cut out my landscaping. The landscaping could be any type that I wanted it to, so based off of my colors, I created a desert landscaping. I cut out cactuses and then used green oil pastel to create it spikes. I used brown pastel to create the tumble weeds. Once my project was dry, I glued the landscaping to it and used oil pastel to create the lines across the paper.  Extension Activity - Anot

Hidden Safari

Description - For this activity, I chose an animal from the choices provided by the teacher. The animal that I chose was a giraffe. After I chose my animal, I drew it onto the white paper. I had to use the upside down drawing technic, which is when you flip the paper upside down and draw it that direction. This helps the students be able to not become stressed by having to draw. I had to draw my animal using a cool color. When I was done drawing my animal. I used three warm colors to draw three different shapes or lines over my giraffe. I started by drawing one shape with one of the colors across the page in a line. I continued to draw the shape until the paper was filled. Then, I chose a different shape and color and did the same steps with that shape. Finally, I chose my last shape and used my last color to complete the steps. Once I was done, I wrote three facts about my animal that would help people figure out my animal and see if they can find my animal. Before we completed the

The Dot

Image
Description - When I completed this activity, it was around Dot Day. I used a coffee filter as the material to draw and write on. I used sharpie, crayon, markers, and water colors. For my name, I used sharpie to write it. I used maker and created the dots all over my dot. I used crayons and created stars all over, which is hard to see in the picture. Finally, I used the water colors, which is the green and blue. This activity showed how the different art writing materials mix together or stand out when you add water to them. The markers and water colors all mixed together, while the sharpie and crayons rejected the water and didn't bleed together. Other materials that you could have used was colored pencils or oil pastels. Extension Activity - An other activity that I could do around Dot day would be using a plate, construction paper, and paint. The students will turn the plate over so that the bottom of it is facing up. The students will choose different colors of paint and plac
